| In the fall of 1994, a group of concerned people saw a need for a Alano club in
Fountain Valley, CA, since this area seemed to be one of the only areas in Orange County
where such a club did not exist. |
 |
The Fountain Valley Alano Club was originally named The New
Beginning Fellowship Center by its founder Alonzo Mitchell. The club wanted to be
consistent with all other alano clubs and also wanted to reach out to others in the
community, therefore the change in name. By changing the name, the Club would be able to
reach out to the community. Anyone passing by, would have no doubt, this was indeed an
Alano Club. |
| |
| The Fountain Valley Alano Club is a facility where recovering alcoholics and drug
addicts can:
|
| |
- Enjoy the fellowship of others in a sober environment.
- Bring their families and friends to various social functions.
- Attend meetings dealing with all 12 step programs.
|
 |
| |
| Alcoholism, substance abuse, eating disorders, domestic
violence, ex-offenders! Despite
greater sophistication in the prevention and/or treatment in these areas, no one method
has proven better than the rest. However, it is understood that social support groups are
vital to permanent recovery regardless of the initial treatment process. |
